I have watery like vaginal discharges, what is this ? Does it mean that I have some health complication?
The term vaginal discharge refers to a clear or whitish fluid that is discharged from the vagina. It is produced by the uterus, cervix, or vagina. This discharge is normal and varies during the menstrual cycle. There is 30 percent more discharge before ovulation and the mucous produced is watery and elastic during that phase. The vagina keeps itself in a healthy state by producing secretions that maintain the pH balance. However, when the healthy state is disturbed by hormonal changes, metabolic irregularities, unhygienic conditions, or an unhealthy diet, it results in vaginal discharges that are pus-like, cream-colored, or yellowish with a strong odor. If caused by bacterial infection, the discharge could be grayish white and smell fishy.
Natural Remedies And Diet
How do I deal with it? You shouldn’t ignore this problem but treat it by using natural remedies to clear the odor. One of the most effective remedies is to consume plenty of yogurt, or apply yogurt in the vaginal area. You can also insert a tampon soaked in yogurt. Yogurt has essential nutrients to restore the pH balance and you should continue this treatment until the symptoms clear away. You can also try garlic, which has powerful antibacterial properties and can be inserted into the vagina wrapped in cheesecloth to remove infection.
You should follow a diet which contains rich sources of vitamins B, C, D, and E. They are essential to keeping you healthy and are effective antioxidants. You can try creams with vitamin E to reduce vaginal infections that cause itching. It is not often that itching accompanies infection. .
Take a warm bath to relax and soothe the genital tissues using mild soaps. Strong soaps can remove the natural lipid barrier against microorganisms.
You can use Margosa leaves or cream to cure the infection as neem is a great antiseptic and blood purifier. You can also soak a teaspoon of coriander seeds in a glass of water overnight and consume it the next day on an empty stomach to cleanse your body of toxins. You can also boil fenugreek seeds in a good amount of water and drink the decoction. You may also use this mixture as a douche.
In addition to these remedies, remember to follow a healthy diet with lots of vegetables and fruits. Avoid starch and sugar, or products with yeast like cheese, beer, sweet chocolate, and vinegar as they help the infection thrive. Avoid tight clothing especially tight under wear, acrylic garments, or jeans every day. Wear loose fitting clothes and cotton under wear. Keep away from stress and depression and get plenty of sleep.
